A shortfill is a 50ml bottle of nicotine-free e-liquid in a 60ml bottle, with 10ml of headspace at the top. The headspace is designed for you to add two 10ml nic shots (18mg/ml freebase nicotine) to reach a final strength of approximately 3mg/ml across the full 60ml. UK TPD rules cap nicotine-containing bottles at 10ml, which is why shortfills exist: they’re how you legally buy larger quantities of e-liquid.
You don’t have to add nicotine if you don’t want to. Many vapers use shortfills at 0mg, particularly heavy daily vapers who prefer no nicotine, or those using them in combination with nicotine pouches or nic salts in a separate device.

Each shortfill bottle has 10ml of empty space at the top of the 60ml bottle. To bring the strength up to 3mg/ml, add two 10ml 18mg/ml nic shots (sold separately, but often included free with the bottle on our site). Pour both shots in, replace the cap tightly, and shake the bottle for 30 seconds to mix. Let it sit for a few minutes for the nicotine to fully blend through the e-liquid before filling your tank.
If you want a lower strength, use one nic shot instead of two (gives roughly 1.5mg/ml). If you want zero nicotine, skip the shots entirely and vape the 50ml as supplied.
50ml shortfills with a 70/30 VG/PG ratio are designed for sub-ohm tanks running coils below 1.0Ω. Devices that work well include the Vaporesso GEN 200, Voopoo Drag X Pro, GeekVape Aegis Legend, SMOK Nord 5, Uwell Crown 5, or any modern box mod with a compatible sub-ohm tank.
Most pod kits will not work well with shortfills. The high VG content is too thick for the small coils in starter pod kits, leading to dry hits and poor flavour. If you primarily use a pod kit, look at our 10ml nic salt range instead.
Why is the bottle bigger than 50ml? It’s a 60ml bottle with 50ml of liquid inside, leaving 10ml of empty space at the top. That space is for you to add nic shots if you want nicotine. This format gets around UK TPD rules that cap nicotine-containing bottles at 10ml.
Do I have to add nic shots? No. You can vape the 50ml of e-liquid as supplied at 0mg nicotine. Many vapers prefer this, particularly those reducing nicotine intake or using pouches separately.
How long does a 50ml bottle last? For a heavy sub-ohm vaper, around a week to ten days. For lighter usage, two weeks or more. Either way, it’s significantly cheaper per ml than buying 10ml bottles.
Is the flavour the same as the 10ml version? The flavour profile is the same recipe, but the higher VG content in the shortfill version produces a thicker vapour with slightly different flavour delivery than the 10ml 50/50 freebase version. Most vapers prefer the shortfill version for sub-ohm vaping.
Can I mix this with other Vampire Vape flavours? Yes. Mix a few millilitres of another shortfill into your tank for a custom blend. Just keep the nic strength matched if both bottles contain nicotine.
