Description
Uwell Nunchaku Coils
Replacement coils for the Uwell Nunchaku and Nunchaku 2 sub-ohm tanks.
Coils for the Nunchaku tank family, which was an early Uwell sub-ohm tank line. The 0.14Ω mesh coil is the cloud-chasing option (70-85W), 0.2Ω suits 55-65W operation, and the 0.25Ω SS316 is a temperature-control compatible option for advanced users running TC mode. Use with 70%+ VG shortfill e-liquids, never with nic salts.

About Uwell
Uwell is one of the most established hardware brands in vaping, founded in 2015 in China and now distributed worldwide. The brand is best known for the Caliburn pod kit family, which has been a benchmark MTL pod system since its 2018 launch, and for the Crown tank series, which set the standard for sub-ohm vaping in the mid-2010s. Uwell’s PRO-FOCS (Pro Flavor Optimisation Coil System) technology is the engineering principle behind their consistently strong flavour delivery, and it’s why Uwell coils are often recommended even by vapers who use other-brand devices.
How to Replace Your Coil or Pod
For screw-in replacement coils (Caliburn G/G2, Crown 4/5/X/M, Valyrian, Nunchaku, Whirl), the process is the same: unscrew the old coil from the bottom of the pod or tank, screw the new coil in firmly but without overtightening, drip a few drops of e-liquid directly onto the cotton through the side wicking ports (this is called priming), refill the pod or tank, and let the assembled unit sit upright for 5-10 minutes before firing. This priming step is essential. If you fire a fresh coil without priming, the cotton burns dry and you get an acrid taste that won’t go away, and the coil’s life is significantly shortened. For complete replacement pods (Caliburn A2/A3, Crown Pod, Kalmia, Yearn Neat 2, Popreel, etc.), the process is even simpler: pop the old pod out, fill the new pod via its side fill port with e-liquid, slot it into the device, and let it sit upright for 5 minutes before vaping for the first time.
How Long Does a Coil Last?
Most Uwell coils last between 5 and 14 days of regular daily use. Several factors influence coil life: sweet dessert e-liquids (with high sucralose content) gunk up coils faster than fruit, menthol, or tobacco profiles. High-VG juices can be slightly more taxing than balanced 50/50 blends. Chain vaping at high power can burn through coils in days rather than weeks. You’ll know it’s time to change the coil when the flavour starts to taste muted or muffled, when you notice a slight burnt undertone, or when the vapour production drops noticeably. Don’t wait until the burnt taste is severe, as by that point you’ve been inhaling broken-down cotton fibres.
A Few Common Questions
Are these genuine Uwell coils? Yes. Every coil sold is sourced from authorised UK distributors and is the genuine Uwell product. Counterfeit Uwell coils are common online and can be dangerous (poorly insulated, can short-circuit, give terrible flavour), so it’s worth buying from established UK retailers rather than auction sites or unbranded marketplaces.
Which resistance should I choose? It depends on what you’re vaping and how. Lower resistance coils (0.2Ω-0.4Ω) are for sub-ohm direct-to-lung vaping with shortfill e-liquids and high-power mods (50W+). Higher resistance coils (0.8Ω-1.8Ω) are for mouth-to-lung vaping with nic salts in pod kits at low wattage (10-25W). If you’re using nic salts, go for the higher-resistance option to avoid getting too much nicotine per puff.
Can I use nic salts with high-power coils? No, and you shouldn’t. The 20mg nicotine concentration in salts becomes overwhelming and unsafe when combined with the high vapour production of sub-ohm coils. Always pair nic salts with MTL coils (0.8Ω+) and pod kits, and pair shortfill e-liquids with sub-ohm coils and high-power mods. Mixing these the wrong way around is uncomfortable at best and harmful at worst.
Are these compatible with other brand devices? No. These coils and pods are designed for specific Uwell devices only. Don’t try to force them into Vaporesso, OXVA, GeekVape, or other-brand kits, even if the thread looks similar. Always match the coil to the exact device family listed above.
Why does my coil taste burnt straight away? Almost always a priming issue. Fresh coils need 5-10 minutes of soak time before firing, with e-liquid dripped through the wicking ports to saturate the cotton inside. If the burnt taste appears after a few days of normal use, the coil has reached end of life and needs replacing.
Safety
This product contains hardware components used to vape nicotine-containing e-liquids. Use of these components alone does not deliver nicotine, but they are typically used with nicotine-containing e-liquids. Sale and use restricted to adults aged 18 and over only. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Don’t disassemble coils or attempt to refill them. Don’t use damaged coils. Don’t use sub-ohm coils in unregulated mech mods unless you have proper Ohm’s-law knowledge and a verified high-discharge battery. Always check that your device’s wattage range matches the coil resistance you’re using.
